Before You Donate
Think very seriously before donating to any breastcancer organization, or fundraising program until you read their Annual Report to see who their top contributors are, and if they have a product that appears frequently in the message the organization sends to the public. That would be unethical and its illegal. The same applies to a request that the public buys products, but does not receive a "donor receipt" for tax-deductible purpose. Read any and all food labels that breastcancer "non-profits" are promoting to raise money. Some organizations tell the public to help them raise money by asking you to visit their websites, but that only gives them "hits" to increase their sponsors.
Another tip, "signing" an online Petition is not acceptable, so don't fall for such antics. An ethical non-profit, or professional will not request your visit to their website, nor use "cookies" placed on your computer when you visit their site.
Purchase the Breastcancer Postage Stamp, the Post Office will always give you your charitable deduction receipt. Its a valid form of fund raising.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
The owner of this web site highly respects the privacy of its users and as such does not collect and therefore shall never release your name, street address, telephone number or email address. No cookies gathering is knowingly permitted on my site to reveal who my users are, nor any manner of maintaining information directly pertinent to my visitors. Hence, I have passed up a great number of offers for financial remuneration. Any financial exchanges I would prefer be donated to PROJECT! OUTREACH: Early Breast Care, Education, Screening and Advocacy, Inc. a 501 c 3 nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and early detection of breast cancer among the highest incidence populations through their loving, giving outreach for anyone regardless of ability to pay.
I have communicated with hundreds of users, and do so on a daily basis and shall not disclose personally identifiable information about you to other parties without your permission and that would only be to physicians and RNs who are involved with advocacy, referral and support if you need help - therefore, I copy you on e-mails and ask that you do the same for me when communicating with those I refer you to for more advice. You name would be strictly shielded, if requested.
Recently, I have decided to not become a "member" or receive "designations" because they are generally, and usually, supported by corporate sponsors and I have no assurance that my web site users IP addresses are not being tracked by "cookies." That, in itself, violated my promise to my web site visitors. Be sure you open your browser, like IE, often and go to Tools/Internet Options/ and Click On "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files." You may have a Spy program like SpyBot (which is free), or Norton System Works to detect threats, programs that follow you around the Internet and sell that information, or use it for marketing to you or about you, but you can always delete "Cookies" by opening your Search program, and type in cookies, and hit Start, and it will bring them all up, so you can delete them. You may also enter *.tmp to find the temporary files and give your computer more space.
If you have any questions about me please do not hesitate to ask me. My only intention is to help others avoid the pitfalls than many of us have made because we didn't understand "the system" (a non-system indeed), and to share my experience in the hope that lives may be saved, and that women will feel confident in confronting their caregivers and seeking those whom they trust, and know how to "check out" those whom they hire, directly or indirectly, with insurance payments.
