Principles of Medical Ethics

Before You Donate

Think very seriously before donating to any breastcancer organization, or fundraising program until you read their Annual Report to see who their top contributors are, and if they have a product that appears frequently in the message the organization sends to the public. That would be unethical and its illegal. The same applies to a request that the public buys products, but does not receive a "donor receipt" for tax-deductible purpose. Read any and all food labels that breastcancer "non-profits" are promoting to raise money. Some organizations tell the public to help them raise money by asking you to visit their websites, but that only gives them "hits" to increase their sponsors.

Another tip, "signing" an online Petition is not acceptable, so don't fall for such antics. An ethical non-profit, or professional will not request your visit to their website, nor use "cookies" placed on your computer when you visit their site.

Purchase the Breastcancer Postage Stamp, the Post Office will always give you your charitable deduction receipt. Its a valid form of fund raising.

SPIRITUAL CONSIDERATIONS

"I truly believe that there is something about breastcancer that strikes at the very core of our being —if we are "real" (as in the children's story). Perhaps its the reality that 'it isn't easy being real,' because there is no way to determine that we're "in remission" if in fact, at all. And, that no one can absolutely say "we got it all." We find ourselves often putting love and life on "hold" or we may be put  on hold.

Every woman who's had invasive breast cancer, or a recurrence, knows that all there is is hope for right this very minute. We find ourselves looking at someone else in the mirror one day who wasn't there two weeks before. We try to feel that we are looking optimistic and strong when we have no hair, we try to feel that it doesn't matter, to us or anyone else.  Society, drat it, tells everyone of us who believes "it" that everything about us that's physical does matter - and that is wrong but the world doesn't reflect that value, does it?

No, we kill innocents to achieve government power goals, those who truly suffer were in harm's way.  Yes, life is ours only for this moment but that is the moment that we each need love and to be able to count on it. At least, that's how I have tried to always be, there for people I meet, know and/or love."

There are as many spiritual needs and beliefs as there are people. This web site owner has more friends of all philosophies, tenets, and belief systems than anyone I've ever known, and she wants to offer whatever possible to assist others during times of discomfort, fear, anxiety, loss. She makes no distinction nor qualifies anyone's personal beliefs.  You will find that she is amazingly open, loving, and supportive—those who really know her are aware of her special love for us, her friends, her family, and anyone she meets.  Her only mission is to see PROJECT! OUTREACH grow to help defeat breast cancer, be fully funded, and complete the Goals that were first planned, and now carried on by William C. Dooley MD, the new Board Chair, for world awareness of breast cancer.

Anyone, of other beliefs (Catholic, Protestant, Hindu, Muslims, American Indian, Unitarian, etc) willing to be a point person for such requests is urged to contact the webmaster so that your email address may be linked to help others who choose your kind offering of consideration and leadership.  Please pass this on to your priests, rabbis, ministers, gurus, family, retired people, teens, your classmates, anyone - even your philosophical leaders.  If you would prefer contact with a physician, PROJECT! OUTREACH can provide a doctor or others in leadership for you to communicate with who is American Indian, Muslim, Hindu, Catholic, Presbyterian, Jewish, Buddhist, and many others.  Please don't hesitate to reach out for help!
